Academic Coaching for High School and College Students
Helping students build the organization, planning, and accountability skills needed for academic success.
As both an academic coach and former high school science teacher, I understand what students are expected to manage and how to help them build the habits and confidence needed to succeed independently.
When a Capable Student Starts Falling Behind
Families often reach out to me when their high school or college student is:
Missing assignments or slipping behind in classes
Struggling to stay organized or manage time
Feeling overwhelmed by large projects or upcoming exams
Procrastinating, avoiding work, or shutting down completely
Working hard, but not seeing grades reflect their true potential
Caught in constant stress, reminders, or conflict at home
If this feels familiar, you are not alone — and it does not have to stay this way.
What to Expect from Coaching
My coaching is designed for high school and college students who need structure, accountability, and practical strategies to manage increasing academic demands.
1. Weekly 1:1 Coaching Sessions
We build systems for planning, organization, task initiation, and follow‑through. Students learn how to break down assignments, manage deadlines, and stay accountable.
2. Between‑Session Support
Light check‑ins, reminders, and encouragement help students stay consistent throughout the week.
3. Parent Communication
You’ll receive brief updates so you always know what we’re working on and how things are progressing
Coaching is designed to meet students where they are --- with flexible options depending on the level of support they need.

Why This Works
For more than twenty years, I’ve supported high school and college learners as they navigate complex coursework, growing independence, and the transition to adulthood.
My approach blends:
Executive function skill‑building
ADHD‑informed strategies
Academic planning and organization
Warm, supportive accountability
A whole‑student perspective that builds confidence, not pressure
Students don’t just get better grades — they gain independence, resilience, and a sense of capability.
Why Families Refer Me
Families often refer friends and classmates because coaching goes beyond keeping up with assignments. My goal is to help students develop the skills and confidence needed to become more independent learners.
Personalized support tailored to each student
Consistent accountability and follow-through
Practical strategies that fit real student schedules
Encouraging, non-judgmental coaching
Strong communication and partnership with families
Focus on long-term independence, not just short-term fixes

Coaching Packages
Every student’s needs are different, so I offer two levels of support. Both options provide consistent, relationship‑based coaching designed to help high school and college students stay organized, manage their workload, and follow through.
⭐ Core Academic Coaching — $360/month

Includes:
Weekly 1:1 coaching session
Organization, planning, and time‑management support
Help breaking down assignments and managing workload
Goal setting and weekly accountability
Light parent communication as needed
This level is ideal for students who benefit from weekly guidance but are generally able to stay on track between sessions.
⭐ Comprehensive Academic Coaching — $480/month
For students who need more ongoing structure, oversight, and proactive support throughout the week.
Includes everything in Core Coaching, plus:
Grade and assignment monitoring between sessions
Tracking of missing work and academic progress
Proactive outreach when issues arise
More frequent parent communication, as needed
This level is best for students who are frequently missing assignments, falling behind, or struggling to manage school independently.
Choosing the Right Level
If you’re unsure which tier is the best fit, I’m happy to help you decide based on your students’ needs and current academic patterns.
Coaching is billed at the beginning of each month to reserve your student’s dedicated weekly time and ensure continuous support.
Many families come to me after trying tutoring, only to realize their students don’t need more instruction — they need help managing everything that comes with school.

Meet Amy
Helping capable students build the structure, habits, and confidence they need to follow through—and succeed independently.
I’m an academic coach who works with high school and college students across the country to strengthen organization, time management, and follow‑through.
As a high school biology teacher and academic coach, I’ve spent years working with students who are bright and capable, but overwhelmed by increasing academic demands. I’ve seen firsthand how quickly things can unravel without the right systems in place.
My coaching focuses on practical strategies, consistent accountability, and supportive guidance that helps students take ownership of their work—and gives parents one less thing to manage at home.
Based in Placerville, I work with students locally in El Dorado Hills, Folsom, and Sacramento, as well as nationwide through private online coaching.
