Meet Amy Stephen
I’m a married mom of two awesome young men—one a proud UW Husky alum, the other a current University of Utah Ute. Our third “kid,” Patch (a lovable German Shorthair Pointer), still lives at home. He barely passed Kindergarten, but we love him anyway.
I hold a biology degree from Loyola Marymount University (Go Lions!) and bring over 20 years of experience teaching high school and middle school science, along with academic support. For the past seven years, I’ve worked as an independent academic coach, supporting students 1:1 outside the classroom. In the last 2 years, I also taught high school biology part-time—wearing both hats has given me a unique perspective on how students learn and what they need to succeed.
Update: I am relocating back to Placerville, California from Boise, Idaho in December. I love that I can be anywhere and I am able to still work virtually with students across the U.S. I love supporting learners of all abilities and helping them build the skills they need to thrive—in school and beyond.

Our son seems more organized and less stressed. Thank you for your help!
